Dr Larissa Mendes – MD-PhD Uropathologist

Dr Mendes is a pathologist and clinical fellow at UCLH with expertise in Uropathology with over 50 peer reviewed publications. Her PhD focused on the research of prognostic and predictive biomarkers in clinically advanced prostate cancer. Working alongside clinicians to integrate histopathological analysis with clinical care strategies, her research involved the assessment of intraoperative surgical margins using confocal microscopy during radical prostatectomy. This innovative work aimed to enhance the precision of intraoperative diagnostics, reducing recurrence rates and improving the clinical outcomes of patients.

Dr Anna Silvanto – MB BS BSc FRCPath

Dr Anna Silvanto is a Consultant Uropathologist at University College London Hospital. Having graduated from UCL in 1999, she completed her specialist training in London, and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2013.

Since then Dr Silvanto has subspecialized in urological pathology with a specific interest in prostate cancer, including its intraoperative margin assessment. She acted as the lead pathologist in the IP8-FLUORESCE study, and is also a key contributor to the LaserSAFE Feasibility study. She is dedicated to contribute to urological research with the aim of improving patient outcomes

Dr Aiman Haider – MD FRCPath

Dr Aiman Haider is a distinguished Consultant Uropathologist based at the University College London Hospitals, UK. She is an active member is several organizations and committees as Education Secretary and Council member at the British Association of Urological Pathologists; Member/Consulting pathologist for EAU/ ESU Working Group “Imaging, Focal, Uropathology”; member of HSL-AD/UCL Research Innovations Committee and GUPS Education Committee. She is Associate Editor for the Histopathology peer-reviewed scientific journal and her clinical research activities involved her in several ambitious trials and programs including PRIME, ReIMAGINE, TRANSFORM.

She graduated as MD pathologist at JNMCH, Aligarh, India and following the FRCPath, she has received the “Marcel Levi’ research fellowship Prostate Cancer UK centre of excellence award and UCLH charitable funds in which she was mentored by Dr Alex Freeman to provide the pathology role to many clinical trials and translational research studies including PRECISION, Hundred Thousand Genome project, NeuroSAFE and Histo-MRI.
