Dr. Yukako Yagi has been appointed as a new Scientific Advisor for Pathology News
Pathology News is proud to announce the expansion of our scientific advisory board with the appointment of Dr. Yukako Yagi. Dr. Yagi is a renowned pathologist and researcher with extensive experience in the field of pathology, and we are thrilled to have her expertise and insights on our team.
Dr. Yagi is Director of Pathology Digital Imaging, Department of Pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Her research focuses on the development and validation of novel biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and prognosis, with a particular emphasis on lung cancer.
As a member of our scientific advisory board, Dr. Yagi will provide guidance and feedback on scientific matters related to Pathology News. Specifically, she will be responsible for reviewing articles submitted for publication and providing feedback on scientific accuracy, relevance, and clarity. She will also help us develop policies and guidelines for scientific accuracy and integrity in our publication, and assist us in identifying emerging trends and topics in pathology that are relevant to our readership.
Dr. Yagi’s expertise and insights will be invaluable in helping us maintain a high standard of scientific accuracy and excellence in our publication. We believe that her contributions will help us better serve our readership and contribute to the advancement of the field of pathology.

Biosketch – Dr. Yukako Yagi
Dr. Yukako Yagi started her career as an electrical engineer at Nikon, Japan, developing robotic microscopes and their applications and received her Ph.D. in 2007 from Tokyo Medical University. She was later Director of Technologies Management at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where she developed and implemented telepathology systems for organ transplantation, frozen section and 2nd opinion consultations and also established clinical and technical standards for whole slide imaging systems. Dr. Yagi came to Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, in 2007 and became Director of the MGH Pathology Imaging and Communication Technology Center. She later took up an Assistant Professor of Pathology role at Harvard Medical School and became the 1st President of the International Academy of Digital Pathology. Dr. Yagi is now Director of Pathology Digital Imaging, Department of Pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
