We are looking for a person who holds or is working towards the Diploma of Expert practice or Advanced Specialist Diploma in Histological Dissection.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate extensive specialist knowledge of Cellular Pathology, technical skills and have the leadership skills needed to adequately support staff training, quality and development. The successful applicant will be working in close partnership with both clinical and management teams to deliver an efficient and cohesive service. Having exemplary communication skills will be a key component for success, as the post-holder will be working closely with a wide range of staff.

The philosophy of the laboratory is to promote best practice and provide a quality service. The department is approved by the IBMS for pre and post registration training and is UKAS accredited.

The post holder will lead on dissection in the main laboratory section and will be supported to develop further into advanced dissection role.

The department is undergoing significant development and change with a focus on BMS dissection. and is progressing plans for the introduction of a digital pathology system.
