Full Job Description
There are 3 posts in total, one of which is for a full time cytopathologist as part of succession planning for a senior consultant nearing retirement. The second post is full time replacement gynaepathology post and the third for a candidate interested in a combination of two specialties, with one being breast pathology and the other uropathology or soft tissue pathology. All of these specialist teams are well established and successful tertiary referral centres with regional and national repute. The cellular pathology service is one of the hubs of the Cheshire and Merseyside cellular pathology network, is the main training centre for cellular pathology trainees and has strong academic links with University of Liverpool. All of this coupled with the imminent move to purpose built new laboratory facilities on site and full roll out of digital pathology makes this the perfect time to be joining our dynamic and expanding department.
The appointees will have a significant commitment to the chosen subspecialty where close collaboration exists between clinicians and pathologists. Both established pathologists and newly qualified trainees are encouraged to apply if they are looking to develop their careers by joining respected and experienced teams and subspecialising in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful applicant will be involved in the whole range of diagnostic work for the respective subspecialty and will also have an opportunity to contribute to teaching and training of junior medical staff and biomedical scientists.
