The Position
The Digital Pathology Sales Manager effectively leads the growth of the Digital Pathology business for their respective Region. They own the digital pathology strategy, development of the strategy to drive growth and goals through the management of Digital Pathology Sales Specialists and Application Consultants and through clear tactics, KPI’s and market knowledge. This role covers the Netherlands, Northern Europe, Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Russia regions.

They develop area sales plans in conjunction with the Country Director, Regional Sales Teams, Digital Pathology Commercial Development Leaders and Marketing to support and grow Leica Biosystems’ customers.

They are an experienced business leader with the ability to work across complex organizations and regions. They lead their team by coaching and development, to lead and drive change for growth. A leader who brings passion, ownership, and drive for results through creative thinking and enabling solutions. The provide the direction, leadership, coaching and mentoring for the regional sales team with a strong focus on Sales, Customer Management and driving Customer satisfaction Advance the professional development, professional conduct, sales effectiveness and efficiency of staff. Track progress with sales, forecast, pipeline growth and instrument usage, effectively using Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools.

Key Responsibilities
The Sales Manager Digital Pathology will focus on the achievement of targets, strategy, budget, business development, projects, DBS and people management:

Achieve and exceed Area’s quarterly and annual sales quota

Develop and execute sales plans and strategies to increase market penetration within the area

Organize and drive regular business reviews, participate in regular sales management meetings

Develop annual sales targets for Digital Pathology Sales Specialist and Application consultants, monitor daily activity using DBS tools (bowlers, action plans) and setting up weekly conference calls

Manage and control department expenses at or below budgeted levels

Responsible for Segment Strategy execution in the region

Maintain and use segment focused analytics to drive business in the region

Engage and own EMEA initiatives on the segment

Own and maintain DP KPI’s in the region and drive countermeasures as needed – including Growth/SWAT-rooms

Report on market trends and competitive insights specific of the region

Promotion of Lean Workflow Solutions that assist customers in realizing their needs

Lead coach, mentor and support a team of Digital Pathology Sales Specialist and Application Consultants and Account Managers when needed, to enable the development inclusion and retention of direct reports

Develop and lead change management initiatives across the organization; define and lead new ways of working; develop, maintain and implement development plans for all direct reports

Engage and lead the team to achieve and exceed individual quarterly and annual sales quota, strategic and sales objectives

Establish Standards of Performance for direct reports and set expectations on completion of responsibilities and duties

Lead the tender response process as applicable, in collaboration with DP&W team and other resources as applicable

Travel with associates providing individual coaching and professional development (target 3 days per week or 70% of available time)
Key Experience & Requirements

University’s degree in Life Sciences or similar

Proven track record of managerial experience , not only leading, developing and coaching a remote multinational team, but also managing distributors and agents

Solid understanding and knowledge of Healthcare and Diagnostics industries

Fluent proficiency in English and any other European or regional language is required;

Highly organized : able to set up and maintain new processes within a dynamic organization

Executive Presence : know how to present plans in a concise and clear manner

Influence management : can reach out and get other functions and departments to align on broader goals and processes

Problem Solving : attention to detail with strong project management, resource planning, and analytical skills leading to consistent on-time delivery of high-quality creative assets, ability to apply PSP tools, recommending process-based countermeasures

Move strategy to action : through action plan creation and alignment, ensuring key milestones are achieved on time, able to prioritize effectively, modifies and improves action plans

Customer focused with Creative Thinking : ability to translate customers’ information and needs into actions that drives impact on growth

Relationships building : able to initiate and maintain a wide range of relationships, both internal and external
