Are you a histopathology consultant looking to join an experienced, cohesive and supportive team of consultants?

We are seeking a friendly and dynamic doctor to work in an NHS Trust’s purpose built facility. We are delighted to provide a fantastic opportunity to work within an NHS teaching hospital with a comprehensive range of acute hospital and specialist healthcare services, caring for a population for 800,000 people.

The Role & Organisation

The NHS Trust runs eight sites, but you will be based in one. You will be working in a newly formed pathology network that has been formed from two services operated by the organisation. It is a clinically led service that incorporates a range of laboratory disciplines across 4 acute hospital sites and covers numerous community, specialist and primary care facilities across a wide geography.

They operate a subspecialist system of reporting serviced by teams of consultants. We invite applications from newly qualified consultants and those in their mid careers looking for the opportunity to develop their subspecialist interests in more than one area. All areas of expertise will be considered. We can accommodate a combination of specialist interests in gynaecological, gastrointestinal (including pancreas), skin, head and neck, breast and urological pathology and non-gynaecological cytology.

The department has successfully introduced an in-house molecular testing service to support lung cancer, colorectal cancer and melanoma diagnostic pathways and have a strong dissection team supporting all of the specialties. They are looking to implement and deploy digital pathology in the very near future. The department supports working from home and hopes to offer even greater flexibility in the future.

This organisation is committed to offering you a job plan that provides a healthy work-life balance and flexibility. This position is offered as 10 PAs over 5 days.
