PostDoc in Digital Pathology (w/m)


Digital transformation using Whole Slide Images (WSIs) will lead innovation and change the way of toxicologic pathology is run. Bayer is looking for a highly creative and motivated Post Doc with expertise or interest in digital images used in toxicologic pathology.

The successful applicant will be part of a cross-organizational team, transforming toxicologic pathology using whole slide images (WSIs) by developing IT infrastructure and artificial intelligence serving toxicologic pathology.

Your main responsibilities will:

  • Be an active member of a large interdisciplinary and cross-organizational team, including scientists from both, our Crop Science and Pharma divisions across Europe serving digital pathology.

  • Extensively implement, validate and further improve IT / cloud-based deep learning platforms to leverage data in toxicological pathology.


Biologist or Scientist with a PhD degree related to digital images or data science, you have an expertise in image analysis.

Experience around images in human or animal or toxicologic/veterinarian/human pathology would be a plus.

You have the ability and an interest to work effectively both independently and in cross-functional teams in an interdisciplinary IT project.

Highly creative, you are comfortable with good problem solving and have the willingness to undertake analysis tasks.

You are recognized for your strong interpersonal skills and communication capabilities. You will appreciate to travel between different research sites.
