The Research Division (Head: Professor Sven Brandau) of Department of Otorhinolaryngology
is currently seeking a
Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d) in Immuno-Oncology
(Pay grade: E13 TV-L / 100% – temporary employment)
or
2 PhD Candidates (m/f/d) in Immuno-Oncology
(Pay grade: 13 TV-L / 50 % – temporary employment)
The employment is provided for the duration of a third-party funded project (TRR332 –
Collaborative Research Center, funded by DFG) until 30.06.2026. The pay grade classification
depends on the personal and collective legal requirements.
With this position, you will have the opportunity to work in a translational research project of a
newly established Collaborative Research Center. This project will identify clinically relevant factors
that help to explain the tumor promoting function of tumor-associated neutrophils in cancer. Pure
basic research does not satisfy you. You are looking for a clinical environment and a translational
research group. You are willing to work independently and apply your knowledge to an innovative
area of re-search.
Your Project
In your project, you will be the responsible researcher of our research project in the
Collaborative Research Center TRR332. You will collaborate with other researchers of the
TRR332.
You will work with advanced tissue analysis technologies, human 3-D in vitro systems,
digital pathology and murine cancer models
You will be responsible for the design, performance and analysis of the research project.
Your experience with immune cells and immuno-oncology will contribute to a successful
out-come of the project
You will have the opportunity to present your findings at national and international confer-
ences.
Your profile / qualifications
Completed PhD Thesis and/or a completed academic degree in natural sciences or life
sciences (Master or Diploma)
Job Vacancy
Experience in immuno-biology, immuno-oncology and molecular biology, neutrophils,
tumor microenvironment
Practical knowledge of cell culture, myeloid cells, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy,
animal handling
Accuracy and sense of responsibility, reliability in data documentation
Cooperation skills to work in a great collaborative team
Solid English skills
Our group
In our group, you can expect a good working atmosphere and a lively research environment at the
interface of basic science and clinical medicine. We offer a wide spectrum of methods ranging from
molecular biology, immunology and experimental animal models to patient material and high-end
imaging.
The research themes of our group are: immunological tumor-host interaction with a focus on
myeloid cells, tumor immunotherapy and the immunobiology of mesenchymal stromal cells
(MSCs).
