RareCyte is a life sciences company focused on the development and commercial sales of transformational platforms that include instruments, consumables and services for multiplex tissue analysis in spatial biology and rare cell detection and characterization for liquid biopsy. The RareCyte platforms have the potential to become the leading discovery/translational/diagnostic platforms for oncology, immunology, prenatal diagnostics and infectious disease.

RareCyte is seeking an outstanding individual with a robust background in technical marketing and applications development for the management of a suite of life science products, including instrumentation and consumables, with a focus on spatial biology. The Product Manager – Spatial Biology will report to the VP of Product and Applications. This individual will support sales channels worldwide: direct strategic product evaluation through external testing and lead the expansion of new applications involving sales and engineering to ensure products meet users’ needs.


Responsibilities:

Provide cross functional leadership (across R&D, Applications, Sales, Operations, Quality, Marketing) of the Spatial Biology product portfolio to support customer success and drive business growth by expanding the market and increasing product revenue in the following key areas:

  • New Product Development
    • Build and implement product strategies and champion new product introduction
    • Drive internal teams to meet roadmap deadlines and quality and performance targets
    • Manage programs to support Early Adopter / Beta customers including coordination of Strategic and Key Opinion Leader collaborations
    • Test new features in ‘customer simulation’ environment and provide feedback to R&D
    • Develop Product and Marketing Requirements based on customer interviews, market trends, competitive analyses, etc.
    • Work with Management to develop business plan for new product
    • Manage product pricing and rollout strategy
    • Develop Product Roadmap in collaboration with Marketing and R&D departments
    • Communicate progress regularly to upper Management
  • Marketing and Business Development
    • Lead customer product demonstrations and application training
    • Provide product training/support for Sales and Applications staff
    • Represent the company scientifically at conferences, workshops, strategic training, etc.
    • Work with key external scientists and internal resources to promote publications
    • Provide key feedback on technical marketing and work with marketing resources internally and externally to produce the needed corporate and sales technical marketing output
    • Work with Sales to ensure business plan is achieved
    • Identify market opportunity for business expansion and test concept
  • Existing Product Life-cycle management
    • Collect feedback from customers on instrument and consumable experience; champion the actions internally based on that feedback; drive new technical applications to enable customer use and market expansion
    • Manage library of technical resources in product family
    • Provide forecasts and timelines for Operations to ensure product availability for customers
    • Engage with Quality to ensure products meet end-user requirements


Qualifications:

  • B.S, M.S., or Ph.D. in Biological Field of study, digital pathology experience a plus; MBA/business training a plus
  • Minimum 5 years relevant scientific / technical marketing experience in Life Sciences
    • Special consideration will be given to candidates with prior experience in spatial biology or pathology focused life science tools products
  • Experience providing support for or leading the development of technical marketing literature, scientific messaging, etc.
  • Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills; strong listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly adaptable and independent, self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and flexibility, and a desire to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced organization
  • 25% travel required (primarily domestic; some international)
