The Production Informatics group comprises multiple teams across the Cambridge UK, Boston MA, Gaithersburg MD, and Munich DE sites. The accountabilities of the group span pre-clinical and early clinical data strategy and delivering multi-omics/imaging software for Oncology Discovery, Translational Medicine and Early Clinical portfolio. What you’ll do

  • Contribute to the success of our digital pathology deep learning software frameworks, as well as our systems for AI prediction & automatic quality control

  • Establish and maintain communication channels with our users to understand requirements and collect feedback

  • Grow user base by establishing comprehensive requirements documentation & manual writing & trainings

  • Support the team in testing new features by defining test cases and developing automated tests into our CI pipelines

  • Support the development team in optimizing user value by understanding & documenting user workflows and journeys and develop optimization strategies

  • Contribute to the standardization of AI data and data flows used within computational pathology

  • Work across functions to define an embedding of AI data (e.g. training patches, models, metrics, segmentation & classification results) into the delivery workflow of imaging projects

  • Collect & describe requirements for extensions of our systems or new systems and databases to achieve this embedding through MLOps

  • Represent the team as a product owner in product increment planning within a scaled agile framework

  • Support the building of a product strategy for our AI software

  • Contribute to feature prioritization to maximize business value

  • Support the team in roadmap planning & liaise with other product owners of our computational pathology systems to resolve interdependencies

Essential for the role

  • Master’s Degree in natural or engineering sciences

  • 3+ years expertise in the usage/development of scientific software

  • Experience in computer programming, preferrably python, understanding & using APIs

  • Image analysis background with a sound knowledge of methodology for detection, segmentation, and classification

  • Experience in scrum & agile

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Desirable for the role

  • PhD in natural or engineering sciences

  • Bioimaging background with a sound knowledge of major types of digital pathology imaging (brightfield, immunofluorescence, multiplex whole slide imaging)

  • Experience in automated testing of software

  • Knowledge in deep learning-based image analysis

  • Data science knowledge for subsequent analysis of quantified images

  • Knowledge in (immune) oncology

  • Knowledge in drug development (processes)

  • Understanding of development tools like docker, gitlab, workflow systems, orchestration systems
