The Department of Pathology at St. Jude is anticipating the need of a highly motivated Sr Data Analyst I in the coming months. This is an exciting and challenging full-time position that will provide data analysis and visualization for the department, develop and maintain APIs and certified data sources, and be responsible for designing and implementing digital pathology workflows and related software platforms.

  • Develop visualizations for departmental operational oversight
  • Create and deploy analytic dashboards for monitoring key performance indicators using Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Conduct ad hoc data requests
  • Change management, technical documentation, and data flow diagrams
  • Proactively resolve issues related to system reporting needs and performance monitors
  • Ensures accurate and reliable data retrieval that meets the defined needs of the user
  • Interprets data extraction to determine reporting validity
  • Write, validate, and optimize SQL queries
  • Evaluate and validate new computational approaches in digital pathology to support the clinical workflows
  • Leads or assists in the design, development, maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and optimization of clinical laboratory information systems including interfaces and middleware.
  • Maintains documentation of approvals, testing and implementation follow-up.
  • Performs comprehensive validation and integrated testing of systems to prove acceptable performance.
  • Deployment of digital pathology workflows and related software platforms.
  • Evaluate and validate new computational approaches in digital pathology to support the clinical workflows
  • Development, test, configure, deploy, and maintain APIs
  • Departmental QA/QI Improvements
  • Ensures system maintenance to prevent disruptions of informatics services due to loss of hardware of software functionality.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics, Health Information Management, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required
  • Master’s degree is preferred

Minimum Experience

  • Four (4) years’ experience in a related position or IT area required which includes at least two (2) years of data analytics experience building data visualization, scorecards, dashboards or reports using tools such as Cognos, SAS, Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, Oracle or Sysbase
  • Experience with application development, testing, configuration, deployment, and maintenance required
  • Experience writing, validating, and optimizing SQL queries
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Experience collecting and integrating data from disparate sources
  • Experience building and maintaining APIs and certified data sources
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux servers
  • Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with whole-slide imaging / digital pathology (preferred)
  • Healthcare experience (preferred
