Airedale NHS Foundation Trust

SeniorProject Manager

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust (ANHSFT), Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT) and Harrogate District Hospital (HDH) are all high-performing Trusts providing acute and specialist outreach services for local people.

All three Trusts have formed a Joint Venture, Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP (IPS) to provide pathology services to the Trusts and other local healthcare providers. This is part of a wider pathology transformation programme which spans our Pathology Network across West Yorkshire and Harrogate (WYH). IPS now requires a Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of key transformation projects which will underpin the development and integration of IPS and the delivery of the WYH Pathology Network Strategy objectives.

Hosted by ANHSFT, the post-holder will work on behalf of IPS in the delivery of key projects across pathology. This role will support the Management Teams (operational and clinical) and the wider service by delivering complex projects and work-streams across IPS related to service transformation, workforce and other ongoing major programmes. In addition, the post holder will help support service leads through embedding of best practice approaches.

The Senior Project Manager will be joining the team at an exciting time. IPS is an integral partner in the WYH Pathology Network which has agreed a strategy for pathology in WYH which recognises the need to invest in new technology and in developing our workforce, and increase efficiency and productivity. There are already established WYH work-streams to deliver a regional single Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Enterprise order-comms solution and digital pathology across the Network.

While leading projects on behalf of IPS across all three sites, the post-holder will be required to work as part of a larger matrix team within IPS to manage key milestones, risks and interdependencies, requiring proven complex project management skills. As a cross-organisational role, excellent stakeholder management skills are essential with a requirement to build relationships and trust across executive directors and operational managers, pathology clinicians, scientific and support staff. The post holder will be expected to spend around a day/week on each site supporting the teams as appropriate.

The post-holder will be accountable to the Managing Director of IPS.
