Cirdan Announces £12.9m Investment to Drive Innovation, Skills and Global Growth

We were pleased to welcome First Minister Michelle O’Neill, Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly and Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald to our headquarters in Lisburn to mark a significant milestone for Cirdan – a £12.9 million investment in innovation, skills development and international expansion. The investment is supported by £1.9 million from Invest Northern Ireland.

Advancing Our Vision Through Innovation

At the heart of this investment is our Vision-Path project, a major enhancement of our laboratory information system (LIS). This project will introduce new, advanced features designed to further differentiate Cirdan in the global marketplace while delivering greater efficiencies for laboratories worldwide.

As a leading pathology technology company, Cirdan is committed to enhancing diagnosis for patients with cancer and other diseases. Our LIS solutions support faster, more accurate results by improving clinical workflows and helping to reduce operational costs across healthcare systems. Vision-Path represents the next stage in delivering on that mission.

Creating High-Value Jobs and Building Capability

The project will create 72 new roles by 2028, spanning Clinical Laboratory Analysts, Project Managers, Integration Managers, Instrumentation Engineers, AI Engineers and Software Engineers. Many of these positions will strengthen our sales and technical onboarding teams, enabling us to scale internationally and meet growing global demand.

This investment marks an exciting new chapter for Cirdan as we continue to innovate, create high-quality employment opportunities and expand our global footprint from Northern Ireland.
