NeoGenomics and Indica Labs expand on their digital pathology partnership, supporting high-volume clinical operations through a cloud-based deployment while providing a scalable foundation for future AI and companion diagnostic (CDx) initiatives.
Indica Labs, the trusted global leader in AI-powered digital pathology, today announced a significant expansion of its strategic partnership with NeoGenomics, a leading provider of oncology diagnostic solutions that enable precision medicine. The expanded collaboration is intended to modernize NeoGenomics enterprise digital pathology infrastructure, accelerate the evaluation and adoption of AI across its clinical operations and biomarker analysis, and establishes a framework for deployment of next generation of companion diagnostic (CDx) solutions.
The partnership brings together two organizations at the forefront of precision medicine: Indica Labs, with its market-leading HALO AP® image management system, extensive AI portfolio, and proven track record as the trusted platform for CDx development, and NeoGenomics, with its deep expertise in cancer genetics and diagnostics, serving approximately 4,400 medical sites and performing over 1.7 million cancer-related tests each year, including 100,000+ NGS tests.1 The companies expect to generate large-scale, curated pathology datasets that can drive meaningful AI advancement while providing an integrated platform capable of supporting pharmaceutical sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), and diagnostic developers throughout the entire drug development lifecycle.
“The most progressive laboratories are moving beyond digitization and building intelligent, enterprise-scale pathology ecosystems,” said Steven Hashagen, CEO, Indica Labs. “NeoGenomics has been an outstanding innovation partner, and this expanded collaboration is a powerful demonstration of what becomes possible when trusted AI, cloud-native infrastructure, and deep clinical expertise come together. We believe that we are building a foundation that will accelerate biomarker discovery, support pharmaceutical partners, and ultimately advance precision medicine.”
Already relying on HALO AP to support high-volume digital pathology workflows across its national laboratory network, NeoGenomics is expanding enterprise-wide access through a scalable cloud-based deployment designed to support continued organizational growth. The modernization effort will encompass a full migration of NeoGenomics’ digital pathology infrastructure and integration services to the cloud, all managed and supported by Indica Labs’ highly experienced Cloud Services team. This infrastructure investment is intended to position NeoGenomics not only for operational efficiency, but as a long-term platform for future AI deployment, clinical trial support, and companion diagnostic innovation.
“Technology investments ultimately matter because of their impact on patients,” said Dr. Nathan Montgomery, Vice President of Medical Services at NeoGenomics. “Our expanded partnership with Indica Labs is expected to help build our digital pathology foundation for more timely, accurate diagnostic insights that can support personalized treatment decisions and improve the experience for the patients and providers who depend on us.”
The collaboration further reinforces HALO AP’s growing role as a vendor-neutral platform for companion diagnostic development. With scanner-agnostic and reagent-agnostic architecture, enterprise scalability, and rapidly expanding global footprint, HALO AP is increasingly the platform of choice for pharmaceutical companies and diagnostic developers seeking AI solutions that can be deployed consistently and reproducibly across diverse laboratory environments worldwide.
