Medica is proud to announce the successful launch of our innovative digital pathology service, MedPath®, with our first client, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP). This partnership marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to supporting the NHS with cutting-edge diagnostic solutions.

Medica is known for providing teleradiology services to over half of the NHS and currently offers UHP our NightHawk® and elective radiology reporting services. Earlier this year, we expanded into digital pathology with the launch of MedPath®. The service is now live, helping UHP tackle its pathology backlog by digitising glass slides for efficient and accurate diagnostic reporting.

Revolutionising pathology workflow

UHP sends physical glass slides to Medica, which are then digitised and analysed by Medica’s network of histopathologists. Once reviewed, the diagnostic reports are seamlessly integrated into the Trust’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), ensuring rapid feedback within a strict five-day turnaround time.
