GastroMed Miami, one of elea‘s first U.S. partners, is now fully live on elea. From the first section to final sign-out, every step of the laboratory workflow runs on a single, connected system, one operating system built for the way modern pathology labs actually work, rather than a set of separate tools.
Thank you to Dr. Jonathan England and everyone at GastroMed for the trust and the collaboration, and to Stephan Frank and Ramona Frank for the on-site training that made the handover so smooth.

Dr. Jonathan England on His First Weeks with elea
elea sat down with Dr. Jonathan England of GastroMed Miami after his first weeks with elea to hear about his early experience.
How did reporting work before elea?
“It was a familiar setup, slides, coded comments, pull-down menus, and constant switching back to the microscope. Functional, but a lot of back-and-forth.”
What surprised you once you started using it?
“How thorough the onboarding was. And honestly, the voice-dictated stain ordering stood out, it’s impressively well executed.”
How long until it felt familiar?
“My team reached about 90% proficiency within a day, and we were fully up to speed within a week. It’s flexible and quick to pick up.”
What should another pathologist know before starting?
“Take advantage of the hands-on setup and the chance to explore the platform early on. The elea team was responsive at every step, the level of personal care really stood out to me.”
Anything else to add?
“elea feels refreshingly modern. So many tools in this space still run on decades-old code. I value having the flexibility to grow as we move further into digital pathology.”

There’s a lot more ahead for GastroMed, and elea is glad to be building it together.
