Aivis wins first best poster prize at ecp2025

On September 19, 2025, AIVIS Inc. announced that its joint research on artificial intelligence (AI) for predicting colorectal cancer prognosis received the First Best Poster Prize at the European Congress of Pathology (ECP) 2025.

The study was conducted in collaboration with Korea University Guro Hospital (Professor Jongwon Lee) and Asan Medical Center (Professor Seungmo Hong). Leveraging the AIVIS pathology image analysis platform, Qanti®Discovery, the research achieved two key milestones:

  • Prognostic biomarker prediction: The AI model predicted expression of LRRC15, a biomarker associated with colorectal cancer prognosis, directly from standard H&E slides with 88% accuracy—potentially eliminating the need for costly special stains.
  • Stage prediction: The same model demonstrated high accuracy in predicting critical staging parameters, including tumor invasion and lymph node status, expanding the role of AI in pathology beyond prognosis to staging support.

The ability to derive both prognostic and staging information from routine H&E slides is regarded as a major advancement in the application of AI to pathology diagnostics.
