In recent weeks, Dr. Soufiane Azdad, CEO of Algoscope, shared his vision for the future of pathology and the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) across two continents, from Portugal to the Republic of Congo.
Dr. Azdad was invited by Mónica Curado to speak at a postgraduate training session in Macroscopy at the Coimbra Health School (Polytechnic University of Coimbra) in Portugal. Addressing macroscopy experts and students, he explored the pragmatic impact of AI in pre-analytics.
“Talking about the concrete and practical impact of AI in real-world laboratory workflows with today’s and tomorrow’s experts was particularly stimulating,” said Dr. Azdad. “The enthusiasm, and a little frustration that some participants hadn’t discovered these technologies sooner, is a clear sign that we’re on the right track.”
Shortly after, Dr. Azdad delivered a virtual talk at the first Scientific Day of the Congolese Society of Pathology (SOCOPATH). The session, hosted by Dr. Fabien Gaël Mouamba, Secretary General of SOCOPATH, and Professor Donatien Moukassa, brought together pathology professionals from across Africa to discuss the deployment of AI in diagnostic workflows.
