When Mayo Clinic set out to digitize 20 million tissue slides to advance future research, they faced a significant challenge. With a variety of specimen types, preparation techniques, and storage conditions, digitizing pathology slides at scale has always been slow and difficult.

Working with Mayo Clinic, Pramana’s AI-powered robotic scanners have processed over 11 million slides in the last two yearsaveraging more than 20,000 slides per day and creating the world’s largest DICOM digital pathology data lake. This intelligent system automates the scanning process for all specimen types – including tissue, cytology, and microbiology – correcting image imperfections in real time.
