Construction of OhioHealth’s new cancer center at its administrative campus in Columbus is underway.
OhioHealth started the project at 3430 OhioHealth Pkwy. this month, with the installation of construction fencing around the surface parking lot south of the campus, according to a community announcement.
The new facility, which is expected to be completed in late 2028, will be located on the south side of the campus and will span five stories, covering approximately 199,000 square feet. It will connect to the first through fourth floors of the existing administrative campus.
The cancer center will serve as a centralized location for outpatient cancer care, according to the announcement. It will relocate services and programs from OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital and the Bing Cancer Center.
The center will offer a range of services, including radiation oncology, surgical oncology, medical oncology, blood and marrow transplant services, infusion, imaging and lab services. It will also feature several specialized cancer clinics and supportive and wellness services.
OhioHealth said the facility will have the capacity to add new programs and services in the future.
OhioHealth will collaborate with Columbus Oncology & Hematology to provide cancer and hematology services as part of the continuum of care. This partnership will extend their long-term relationship to include three centers, with Columbus Oncology & Hematology relocating their Jasonway Avenue practice to the new location.
The new cancer center project will not affect the current work arrangements for OhioHealth associates at the administrative campus. Employees will continue with their existing office, hybrid, or remote work status, according to the announcement.
