During ESMO 2025, Berlin, Pathology News sat down with Felix Faber, CEO & Founder of Mindpeak, and Patrick Frey, Head of Precision Medicine, to discuss how their new platform, PhenoScout AI is transforming multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF) and biomarker discovery.

Joined by Sidney Ocanagil-Tunstall, the pair explained how mIF has long promised richer insights into the tumour micro-environment which until now have been slow, messy and difficult to reproduce. Mindpeak, working closely with Zeiss, is tackling that head-on.

Unlike traditional immunohistochemistry, mIF offers, in theory, an unlimited number of biomarkers. Mindpeak has harnessed this technology in PhenoScout AI and in partnership with Zeiss scanners, started to make the most of this data that we are currently not exploiting to its full potential.
