AIVIS Partners with Philips Korea to Advance AI-Driven Pathology Diagnostics

December 12, 2024|AIVIS, Industry News|

AIVIS Inc., a leading South Korean company in AI-powered pathology solutions, has signed a license agreement with Philips Korea, a global leader in healthcare technology, to integrate AIVIS’s biomarker quantification software, Qanti IHC, into the Philips IntelliSite Pathology solution.

Through this agreement, announced on 2024, December 12, AIVIS’s AI-based software will now be fully compatible with Philips’ digital pathology ecosystem, enabling seamless quantitative analysis of cancer biomarkers. The integration is expected to improve diagnostic precision, enhance consistency, and streamline pathology operations in clinical environments.

The Philips IntelliSite Pathology Solution is a cutting-edge digital pathology platform that includes an ultra-fast slide scanner, an image management system, and a viewer for converting tissue samples into high-resolution digital images. It was approved by South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in 2018 and has since been widely adopted in hospitals and labs for advanced diagnostics.

Qanti IHC, developed by AIVIS using proprietary AI algorithms, automatically quantifies the intensity of biomarker expression—such as ER, PR, HER2, and Ki-67—in digitized pathology images. The solution received MFDS approval as a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) in September 2024, validating its clinical safety and performance.

This collaboration represents a major step forward in accelerating the adoption of AI in pathology, bridging high-performance imaging with intelligent analytics to support faster, more accurate diagnoses.

“This agreement marks a major milestone in AIVIS’s global expansion. After more than two years of intensive R&D, our AI-powered pathology solution is now gaining international recognition. We remain dedicated to delivering innovative technologies that support diagnostic excellence and improve patient outcomes worldwide,”

said Dae-hong Lee, CEO of AIVIS.

A representative from Philips Korea echoed this sentiment, stating:

“AIVIS’s AI-driven technology has transformed digital pathology by significantly reducing the time required to analyze tissue samples. This allows clinicians to focus more on patient care, ultimately improving treatment quality and outcomes.”

In addition to its collaboration with Philips, AIVIS is actively building global partnerships across the precision medicine ecosystem. The company has recently expanded engagements with leading healthcare and pharmaceutical firms, including AstraZeneca, as part of its strategic push into international markets.
