Standardizing Quality Diagnosis
Pathology has been facing major challenges to meet the increasing demands in cancer diagnoses, mainly due to the decreasing number of pathologists and increasing number of cases for early detection of cancer.
Allowing fast and timely diagnoses for patients and appropriate follow up care at the right time can hugely impact patient survival in some cases. And in moderate cases where only active surveillance is mandated, with the help of AI’s support for faster diagnoses, patients can be relieved of the anxiety in waiting for the final diagnoses early, which can take weeks.
To tackle another challenge pathology is facing, inconsistency and discordance in diagnoses, AI supports pathologists to make more consistent diagnoses with accurate metrics, such as tumor ratio out of the total tissue area and ratios of particular regions(patterns) out of the total tumor area, etc.

Deep Bio’s first cancer diagnostic algorithm is for the detection and grading of prostate cancer on prostate core needle biopsy samples. Now we are expanding prostate specimen types to TURP (Transurethral Resection of the Prostate) and whole mount, as well as different cancer types to breast, lymph node metastasis, and bladder.
In addition to diagnostic solutions, we plan to develop algorithms to encompass the treatment paradigm such as AI software for patient stratification and prognosis prediction. These algorithms will enable the right diagnosis to be translated into the right personalized treatment to optimize patient outcomes.
